Last weekend, we took KORU BEAR on his first weekend road trip. Taking your pet on a road trip is easier and more popular than ever. Many offer pet friendly accommodation like Red Roof, where their motto is “You Stay Happy, Pets Stay Free!”

It was exciting to take KORU BEAR on his first road trip weekend adventure in San Diego. It’s supposed to be a short drive, but Summer traffic made our weekend road trip a bit longer. We often visit San Diego and explore different neighborhood and dog friendly sightseeing. Last weekend, we checked out Pacific Beach and stayed at Red Roof Inn.
Pet Friendly Accommodation at Red Roof Inn
Nice Place, Nice Price
Red Roof offers an economical pet friendly accommodation and pawfect for families on a budget vacation. Typically, many Red Roof locations are close to many attractions for the family to enjoy. Red Roof Inn Pacific Beach’s location is less than three miles from the beach, walking distance to Mission Bay Park and a short drive to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and Pacific Beach Boardwalk. Also, many discounted attraction tickets are available at the front desk for families to redeem.
Pet Friendly Red Roof Inn Motel Style
The Red Roof Inn Pacific Beach has two floors, and the rooms accessible from an internal corridor with metal railing and car parking space. The motel style is definitely convenient for road trippers needing to rest.
You Stay Happy, Pets Stay Free!
Our room was on the second floor and had to use the stairs. KORU BEAR was able to handle the open style stairs, and the corridor was wide enough for him and dog dad to walk.
Our room is small but enough to fit a stay necessities like a queen size bed, a desk, TV, refrigerator and an open closet next to the bed. We are surprised how the room furnishings were upgraded almost like a Red Rood Plus room. We are so happy that the flooring choice is laminated wood and the room was clean.
There was a small pet-relief area located by the parking lot. KORU BEAR was unsure of the “fake grass.” It was maintained, and there’s a bench right next to the trash bin.

Friendly Red Roof Inn Staff
The staff at Red Roof Inn was very friendly and helpful especially Gina at the front office. Our room was not ready upon check-in but Gina was able to accommodate our request to have a room. KORU BEAR was exhausted from the long drive and needed to rest.
KORU BEAR slept well on Red Roof Inn’s comfy soft bed.
Red Roof as a top economy hotel values their travelers. They are proud and promises a comfortable place to stay.
Overall, we are very happy with our short stay and loved the contemporary furnishings plus the laminated wood flooring. The extra amenities like free breakfast and wifi made our stay extra special. The Red Roof Inn Pacific Beach is an AAA Approved Diamond Rated for three consecutive years, 2015-2017 and was featured in AAA tour book. Lots of Golden Thanks Red Roof for an exciting weekend fun and making KORU BEAR’s first weekend road trip memorable.
“At Red Roof, bring your four-legged family member along.
And, unlike other pet friendly hotels, there are no additional charges.”

Wish I was with him!!!
Wow!! Koru Bear. You are a STAR!! What a beautiful boy. So poised, Mom and Dad must be so proud of you. Looks like a wonderful trip.
A message to Koru’s dog Mom: I love the new logo at the top of your blog with Sugar and Koru. She will always be special to so many of us and it’s good to see two beautiful faces now. It was obvious Sugar was not just an ordinary pup and Koru looks like he will follow in her footsteps while being himself and bringing his own special qualities. Just between you and me when I saw the picture of him sleeping in bed I wanted to kiss my iPad screen!! So I kissed Sophie and Elwood instead. Kathy, Retriever Mom
Koru Bear you are a handsome pup. I stay at Red Roof and grateful to get my rest during my travels.
Enjoy traveling with your peeps🐾😀
How fun! I’ve often wondered how well my boys would travel, but I can’t afford to take them anywhere. I think Chico would be fine, but that Shiver’s anxiety would get to him.
