Dogs produce sweat through their paws and cool themselves primarily by panting. A dog cooling vest like Kurgo’s Dog Core Cooling Vest can help keep your dog cool.

As a double coated dog, KORU BEAR gets very hot. When the temperature rises, I make sure to take safety precautions to keep him cool.

When outside, I consciously seek out for shaded cooler areas to walk and rest. Staying hydrated and serving cold treats are great to keep KORU BEAR cool.
Can a cooling vest helps your dog stay cool? | Dog Cooling Vest by Kurgo
Extreme heat continues to linger in Southern Califonia. On our recent trip to Temecula, California, KORU BEAR had an opportunity to test Kurgo’s Dog Core Cooling Vest.
Temecula’s warm, sunny weather and granite-based soil are an ideal place for growing grapes and making award-winning Califonia wines. Last weekend, we attended Wine and Woofs at lovely Maurice Carrie Winery benefiting All About the Animals.
It was hot with temperatures reaching 98 degrees at noon time. KORU BEAR wore his Kurgo Dog Core Cooling Vest. Many noticed it immediately as the word “cooling” is written on the side of the dog vest.
The light colored and reflective material helps effectively reflect most of the heat away from your dog. How does it work? Three easy steps: 1) Wet the dog vest with cool water, 2) Wring it out and 3) Strap the vest to your dog. The dog vest uses both evaporation technology and heat reflection to deliver coolness to your dog’s body. It helps your dog’s back, belly, and chest.
We were at the event for three hours and the vest stayed wet for about two hours. The chest part of the vest remained wet and made KORU BEAR very comfortable relaxing on the patio while we enjoyed some bread and wine. We tried to re-wet the vest by pouring water on top and it was not effective; water beads started to form on the side of the vest. Once the vest is dry, the best way to reuse it is to fully wet the vest under running water then wring it.
This Kurgo Dog Core Cooling Vest is a must-have ‘cooling dog accessory, making it handy during outdoor activities. It’s is going to be useful on our trips to Phoenix and upcoming hiking adventures. It is pawfect for small and x-large dogs. For sizing, check this chart to measure your dog. It is easy to clean machine washable. To learn more about Kurgo products, visit kurgo.com. How do you keep your dog cool? Do you use a dog cooling vest?
I like it! I could have used one for myself when I went to school in Tucson years ago. We’ve been hanging around the AC these past few days with a few dips in the swimming pool, but I think Stetson wouldn’t mind also having a cooling vest 🙂
Koru Bear, you look cooler than cool in cooling vest!! Your peeps sure keep you cared for in your adventures!
Glad to see you keeping COOL in Temecula’s summer heat!

I’ve thought about getting one for my senior black dog Ace. Actually both my dogs would like one I’m sure.
That cooling vest looks like a great idea. You sure look cool and handsome Koru Bear. Sophie would enjoy wearing one when she stays out.
We live in South Florida – this would be awesome year round!
Jaxson would have appreciated a cooling vest this summer. He struggled trying to stay cool.
