12 days ago (Mother’s Day), we had a blog friends meet-up in the city.
I am Golden Excited as I love going in the city.
We met with Rocco and mom Diane from To Dog With Love.
They were visiting family in Chicago and its Rocco’s first time traveling via air.
We also met Dolly and mom Sandra from Dolly the Doxie.
5 Reasons To Have A Blog Friends Meet-Up
1) A socialization opportunity for both you and your dog.
2) Great activity for the day. Chasing and running are PAWsome calorie burning activity.
3) Another opportunity to practice/reinforce your basic commands of Sit, Stay, Come. As we said before, it does not matter the age of your dog. It is important that these basic commands must go hand in hand with any of your dog’s activity. It helps a lot especially when your dog is off-leash.
4) Explore new place.
5) It’s FUN!
Did we accomplished these 5 reasons? Yes, absolutely.
It was my first time to meet Rocco and Dolly. For our moms, it was a pre-BlogPaws meet-up.
Rocco is a young pup and he sure has lots of energy. I’m happy that I was able to keep up with him. Dolly might be small but she can certainly keep us with me and Rocco. I brought a ball which was the center of our play besides running and chasing.
We played on the lawn off-leash for about 2 hours. Many residence who live in the area joined us and chatted with our moms. A family brought their dog and 2 kids who played catch on the lawn. Well, I’m a golden that enjoy catch games too and since the ball I brought broke I joined the kids while Rocco and Dolly rested.
From the photo above, I’m in between the 2 kids and tried to catch the ball when they threw it. My mom regret not taking a video of it.
It was hilarious. I had a great time playing with them until we heard a voice from a megaphone. “Put that dog on a leash.” Ooops, its the police. I guess off-leash was not allowed on the lawn. This ended our lawn play. We said good-bye to Dolly and mom Sandra.
We wanted to explore the park, Lincoln Park. For the past years, it has gone through a renovation. Rocco and mom Diane joined us for a walk around Lincoln Park: Nature Boardwalk (half a mile walk around the out skirts of the Lincoln Park Zoo). The city of Chicago certainly did a great job renovating the area and making it such a delightful walk. Rocco and I surely enjoyed the scenery where we saw camels, goats, horses, and ducks. Also, we enjoyed posing for photos.
It was a 3 1/2 hours blog meet-up play date.
I was exhausted but definitely had a PAWsome time.

ohhh! I loved reliving our play day! Great photos and a great post! Rocco sure had fun with Sugar!
Looks like a wonderful time was enjoyed by all! Happy Friday!
I regularly hold a blog friends meetup here in Seattle but we are more business than fun – talking Facebook, Twitter, marketing, goals, etc and not always bringing our dogs. We do, however, have several play dates a month with other Doxie friends and people and dogs from our Adventureweiner Club.
Sounds like a wonderful time with friends. Glad you didn’t get arrested, Sugar!
What fun! Looks and sounds like you had a great time! Woofs from Jeffie, Rudy and Rosie
That was fantastic, Sugar. We’d love to meet blog friends.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

Wilhelm loves that dog-in-the-middle game with kids too, Sugar. Happy Fit Dog Friday!
It sure looks like you had a really good time. That little dog had a lot of energy. What fun to meet blogging friends. Have a super week end.
Sugar- did you ever see that Seinfeld episode when Kramer took Karate lessons and was winning because his class was for 10 year old kids? Looks like you were dominating Rocco and Dollie similarly!
Only kidding– I have met Rocco and he is one tough dude, I mean dog. Dollie looks so as well.
So glad that you could have a fun, active day with friends. That’s what life is all about.
arf arf joy joy arf arf fun fun… you look so happy
Oooh, that looked like a terrific time that you had! Wonderful pictures too!
Wow that looks awesome. So glad you could meet! Lee and Phod
I don’t like playdates… I wander off after the initial sniff-and-greet, my Mum calls me anti-social BOL!
So glad you all got to meet up and have such a great time! Wish I could meet ya too!
WOW What fun to meet and play with new friends. You are always welcome here for a visit. Maybe I will get to Chicago one day tpopo and we could visit.
What fun! I think a meet-up that revolves around the dogs first sounds especially fun.
We’ve had blogging friends visit us in our home and have really loved it. I hope I can lure more people to the Finger Lakes to enjoy our beautiful waterfalls and wineries. Especially since I don’t have a car to go out visiting myself. 🙂
So bummed I pooped out (got bored) and missed the walk! Love Dolly
Pawsome meet and greet and Sugar you looked like you had loads of fun. Have a fabulous Friday.
We have our Tasty Tuesday post lined up lets hope this one doesn’t get deleted LOL.
Best wishes Molly
Oh! That looks like Most Fun, Sugar! I wish we could have some sort of bloggie meet-up here but I’m the only dog with a blog that I know in my town. Oh, well. I’ll live vie-carrie-us-lee through you!
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
Meeting up with friends is always a good time. You looked like you had a great time time!!
Isn’t meeting “in the furs” just the greatest thing? While we were on our vacation, we got to meet 3 special blogging families that included 6 dogs. It was the best time!
It sure is nice meeting up with blog friends! I won’t see you till after the first week of sept. Mom’s going away, so have a nice summer!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
That is so fun! Mom told me about your meeting/play date. I wish we knew more dog bloggers in our area but we don’t know of any, yet! We have some other friends we get together with but mom really misses having some blog friends to hang out with and chat with, exchange thoughts and ideas, etc. As you know, she is a lot like your mom and not one to go out and dig up friends, so I do my best as a dog to find friends for her but none of them blog 🙁 Maybe mom needs to take us on a road trip to Chicago…I hear Lake Michigan is nice and I love to swim.
What fab fun meet ups r the best
Urban hounds
Great fun for all, Sugar -have a spectacular weekend.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
I’m guessing by the time you heard that megaphone that you were ready to call it quits. So that policeman was doing y’all a favor. Right? Looks like GREAT fun!
Looks like so much fun!!!
How fun. Like the dog parks around here and then some idiot with a mean dog shows up and messes it up for everyone else. I do live in California after all.
Have a woof woof day Sugar. My best to you mom. 🙂
What a fun time for all of you. Glad they didn’t put you in the slammer for being off leash 😉
Being social and active is so important for dogs.
Wonderful adventure and great pictures.
Thank you for sharing
A meetup sounds like so much fun, I’m glad you had a good time, minus the having to go back on a leash part.
What a fun meet up! We enjoyed our get together with Bert, the first blogger furiend we have met in the fur.
We hope to be able to have some more get togethers
hugs
Bailey, Hazel & Greta
Such fun photos, beautiful Sugar and we LOVE your adorable purple shoes, sweetie!!…Happy Holiday weekend, darling friend…kisses…Calle, Halle, Sukki, Mommy Cat, Daddy Cat
Hrmph, more species discrimination! Dogs are better behaved than a lot of humans, you know, but THEY don’t have to be leashed. I’m glad you had fun anyway!
What a complete blast! I saw Diane’s post too and it looked like it was so much fun! Barks and licks and love, Dakota
That looks like a great time! I’m so happy you all got to meet. That is funny about the megaphone, I’m sure those three dogs looked like they were up to some pretty bad mischief, BOL.
🙂
OMD! That sure looked like a FABulous time!! You guys looked like you had all kinds of funs together!
Too bad the po-po had to come and ruin your funs!! BOL
Kisses,
Ruby
We would love to meet our blog buddies one day…Dad says if we ever won that lotto thing he will buy us an rv and we can travel around and say hello to everyone
Definitely a good idea… and oh, look at that fun!!!
Looks like you and your friends had a great time even after the fun police showed up!
Sounds like you and the humans had a good time. You’re lucky you had any time off leash in the afternoon. In Central Park we’re allowed off leash between 9 PM to 9 AM.
I’m so glad you are not in dog house now Sugar! I would love to meet blogger friends – that would be great. Have a golden friday…
What a great time the 3 of you all had … there’s something about watching you and youngster Rocco running together that brings me a great big smile
What a fun day, Sugar! No better way to work on keeping fit than having a play date with some fun new friends! That was really quite the day, I can see why you were exhausted by the end of it.
That looks like some serious fun your having there.
