February is known to be the short month, as it is the only month to have a length of less than 30 days. For a short month, there are many special fun events during February. Some of our favorites are Groundhog Day, Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day, SuperBowl Sunday, National Pizza Day, Make A Friend Day, Walking the Dog Day, Polar Bear Day, Random Acts of Kindness Day, National Drink Wine Day, Valentine’s Day and Love Your Pet Day.
Valentine’s Day and Love Your Pet Day Dog TREAT are definitely the most popular February fun events for pet owners. These special love days offers the ideal opportunity to honor a love unlike any other: The unconditional love of a beloved pet.
How do you plan to spend Valentineās Day and Love Your Pet Day with your pets?

Hearts bow ties are available in our shop: Golden Woofs Shop: Woofs n Wagz. Our dog bow tie is 6″ long with a velcro strap that easily wraps around any collar or harness, and it fits up to a 1-inch wide collar.

To celebrate the month of February: Valentine’s Day and Love Your Pet Day, we are giving away a Golden Woofs hearts dog bow tie. Follow the giveaway tool to join.

One of A Kind Golden Love
One of the saddest unexpected events was the passing of SUGAR. Honestly, I’m still hurting, and haven’t had a chance to share more about her journey to the rainbow bridge.
Gift from God
I intended to rescue/adopt and had an opportunity to foster a 12-week Golden retriever puppy named Shauna from a local rescue group.
Unfortunately, I only had her for seven days. Shauna joined SUGAR at the rainbow bridge. Another unexpected pet loss that it’s difficult to share about.

The unexpected adoption of KORU BEAR was the highlight of my year. Many of you asked about KORU BEAR. On a recent post, I shared Five Things About KORU BEAR: New Life KORU BEAR A Gift from An Angel.

2017 Magazine Feature
I’m fortunate to be featured on Bake it Up Magazine Holiday edition. Initially, it was intended for SUGAR, but I felt it would be more appropriate to highlight my new recipe with KORU BEAR. Since SUGAR’s passing, I haven’t done much ‘dog treat’ baking … hopefully soon. I’m happy that old dog treat recipes were trending last year.

Successful 2017 …
I did not expect 2017 to be as successful as it became. Many Golden Thanks to all our blog and social followers. I’m grateful to all the PR/brands that trusted and supported Golden Woofs. Special Thanks to Red Roof Inn for our 2017 Blog Paws Conference sponsorship and Sleepypod for our pet travel sponsorship.

Blog vs Social Media
For 2017, I was very active on social media which provided Golden Woofs new audience and amazing new social friendships. Being active on social media offered an immediate insight on “how to” create a blog content. I find this process helpful especially creating a review blog post. Also, many new opportunities resulted from social posts and generated extra traffic to my blog.

2018 Making Intentions Rather Than Resolutions
Part of last year, I felt that I lost the fun of blogging. So this year, I intend to blog with intent; be mindful, align with brands/people that provide positive values and cultivating a feeling of joyfulness.Ā Woofs to 2018!
Today marks the 7th-month since we officially adopted KORU BEAR. His adoption is unexpected but so grateful to have another Golden Love. Here are five things about KORU BEAR …

1. KORU means “new life“, a name we added to his given name BEAR.
His name was inspired by the āswirl or spiral patternā on our logoās background design. From Wikipedia, ākoru (MÄori for āloopā) is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizing new life, growth, strength, and peace.ā
2. When Angel SUGAR moved to California, the first Golden she met was KORU BEAR’s mom – Raven, an English Cream Golden Retriever.
3. The first six months of KORU BEAR’s life, he was raised by Colby from Puppy In Training to be a service dog for the Guide Dog of America.
4. Among his litter mates, KORU BEAR was the only one that did not pass the “umbrella temperament test,” but he surpassed the “retrieval temperament.”
5. At six months old, KORU BEAR’s trait as a cautious dog and having difficulty adjusting to different situations caused his change of career … Our promise to puppy raiser Colby is to provide KORU BEAR a new purpose in life – to bring love and smiles to others as a therapy dog.
This year, KORU BEAR is our new life gift of love especially after losing angel SUGAR our, one of a kind Golden Love. Looking forward to sharing more of Koru Bear’s life and adventure in the new year 2018.
